South Walton Turtle Watch UPDATE! ?Heyooooo!! Happy #FriYay ? A little video of a couple #loggerhead hatchlings navigating some mountainous ?? footprints ??. Not to worry…these babies made it saf…e to the water as they were found and released during a routine excavation earlier this season ? Now for some data as a few more nests have been excavated. ?? Nest #52 Loggerhead ?0 Hatched ?109 Whole ?109 Total ??0% SUCCESS **This nest was washed over during a high tide event and also suffered inundation. Nest #54 Loggerhead ?0 Hatched ?36 Whole ?36 Total ??0% SUCCESS **This nest was not washed over but was very wet due to the water table reaching the egg chamber underneath the sand. Nest #57 Green ?86 Hatched ?51 Whole ?3 Dead Pipped (Halfway out of shell) ?140 Total ??61% SUCCESS And just like that we currently have 4 nests left incubating!!
