Hello August. What a beautiful beach day. Enjoy it! ? Stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and be aware of surf conditions along the beaches of South Walton Florida. Follow: South Walton Fire District12 PM UPDATE! ? SoWal beach flags are changing to SINGLE RED on August 1st for high surf hazards. Lifeguards are monitoring a bump in surf, which could to wide…spread, dangerous rip currents. Stay close to shore! If you see a swimmer in distress, call 9-1-1 or alert the nearest lifeguard. Original 8/1/22 flag post below: Yellow flags are flying on Monday, August 1st! ?? Moderate rip currents and hazards are present along with the hot weather and sunshine. Please remember to stay hydrated, wear plenty of sunscreen, and swim near a lifeguard. Lifeguards will continue to evaluate the conditions throughout the day and make changes to the flags as necessary. Be safe out there!
