The Gulf is open, but extremely careful if you …insist on entering the water.** DOUBLE RED FLAGS! ?? Just because it’s sunny doesn’t mean it’s safe. Rip currents are pulling with serious force on Friday. This creates a life-threatening hazard to anyone entering the water. We’re flying Double Red Flags to warn of the dangers. It is illegal to enter the water under these conditions. Violators can face $500 fines and/or criminal charges. We will continue to evaluate conditions and change to single red if and when it becomes safe to do so. Please understand and respect that our lifeguards have no control over Mother Nature.
