City Facilities Closed Monday, August 16, 2021
Fort Walton Beach remains in the path of Tropical Storm Fred as it nears the coast. We are currently under a Tropical Storm Warning. Because of this, all city facilities will be closed to the public Monday, August 16. A decision regarding city facilities for Tuesday, August 17, will be made sometime Monday afternoon.
- Emergency services (police and fire) will remain fully operational.
- Water/sewer operations will continue.
- Garbage service for Monday is scheduled to operate normally as long as winds remain below 35 mph. Please DO NOT cut limbs or stack debris by the road at this time as it could cause hazards and clog storm drains.
- All recreation activities are canceled. This includes sports leagues, the rec center, museums, and the library.
